Personal Family Background

I was born in Kanpur, India, where virtually all of my family still resides. I came to the USA in 1967 as a graduate student and obtained 2 Master of Science degrees. I received my US citizenship in 1983. My wife Donna and Icame to Fort Myers in 1977 andloveliving here! We have worked together in real estate since 1986. Son Scott & wife Mary live in Frisco-Dallas, TX. He is a Senior Editor for www.ESPN.com, and Mary is a teacher. Son Rick and Mimoza live in Tampa, FL. Rick is a commercial realtor and entrepreneur; Mimoza assists Rick in his business endeavors. We are blessed to have 5 lovely grandchildren. Donna and I have hosted several foreign exchange students for 10 years and enjoy visiting them in their home countries.

My civic involvement includes being a member of Fort Myers Kiwanis Club since 1984, Historic Preservation, Environmental Conservation, and wildlife habitat protection are my interests. I have been a strong supporter of Thomas Alva Edison Kiwanis Science Engineering Fair for middle and high school children for three decades. Kiwanis has launched a World Atlas Project for elementary schools under my leadership. Coldwell Banker Cares Foundation supports Toys for Tots, Ronald McDonald House, and Animal Rescue Center

I worked as a Senior Planner in Middlesex County NJ, and Lee County FL, before becoming a Realtor. I co-authored two books on Florida's Beaches and Barrier Islands published by Duke University Press in 1984 when I had Sharma Realty. I have also conducted septic system, beach, wetland, and boating studies, which resulted in local, state, and federal government - purchasing and preserving and opening more beaches and boat ramps forpublic. I also taught area Realtors Success Series at Fort Myers Association of Realtors. As a member of Fort Myers Kiwanis Club since 1984, I helped children in STEM Fair and World Atlas projects! Environmental and Historic Preservation are my other interests. World travel is our passion, and we take 3-4 trips annually! Life is blessed while helping clients.
